The Client & The Challenge

NoBlue2 is a leading provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, with headquarters in Derby, UK. ERP platforms are software platforms used by companies to integrate and manage core operational aspects. This includes management of supply chains, manufacturing, finance and more.

Previously called NoBlue, the business rebranded to NoBlue2. With the new brand identity, they required a new website and a domain migration to their new URL. Alongside this, they were merging three existing websites into one. With lots going on at the same time, it was crucial NoBlue2 could trust our development team to provide a professional service and minimise any SEO risk that a site migration poses.

The biggest risks for SEO include:

  • Lost backlinks and rankings
  • Incorrect or missing 301 redirects
  • Search engines not indexing the new domain properly
  • Overall traffic fluctuations and taking a long while to recover

The Vision

Our SEO team have many years worth of experience working with NoBlue2 and have been their trusted partner for many years. This put us in good stead, understanding their site and what we needed to do. Or web design team were fully briefed and could approach the migration with confidence and ensure the process went as smoothly as possible.

What we did:

  • We first conducted a comprehensive UX audit of NoBlue’s previous website. This helped to identify any key areas where improvement was needed. At the same time, we put together a detailed SEO audit to pinpoint any current technical issues, content gaps and opportunities. Both of these audits made sure we could clean up any current issues and truly take advantage of updating the site for both UX and SEO purposes.
  • We then redesigned the current website architecture to ensure it was intuitive and also SEO-friendly. This made sure both the old and new site structures were understood completely and SEO value was preserved.
  • After this, we implemented a comprehensive 301 redirect map to preserve existing rankings, backlinks and traffic. This is also the same stage we focused on other key technical factors (XML sitemap, robots file etc). All of these steps ensured the SEO value of the previous site was retained and moved to the new domain.
  • After the site was migrated and it was live on the new domain, we closely monitored the site performance. To ensure SEO visibility remained as stable as possible, we addressed any indexing issues or tech errors promptly.

The Results

Following the merge of all three sites and a new domain change, organic traffic remained stable and there was no immediate loss in visibility. Impressively, traffic experienced a 100% increase over the next few months.

Overall, this was a perfectly-executed migration and we were able to make the transition and rebranding a super smooth process for NoBlue2.
