As of June 30th 2020, Magento no longer support the Magento 1 platform. With over 250,000 sites using Magento and only 11,000 of them running on Magento 2, in the coming months it’s going to be crucial for your e-commerce business to adjust to this change. When Magento end their support at the end of June, websites running on Magento 1 will still remain on the internet. However, they won’t be releasing any more security patches, which means the continued security of your customers and your business would be at risk.Â
If you’re still running on Magento 1 and are looking to move over to Magento 2, it isn’t quite as easy as just ‘switching’. The difference between the two frameworks is considerably different and even though there are migration tools, the process isn’t straightforward. When making the change, it involves effectively rebuilding your site on a different framework – so it’s no small task. But don’t worry, our team of Magento web development experts are here to help.
Magento 1 was released in 2008, so it’s no surprise that it has become outdated and lacking in modern features. Magento 2 has some great upgrades and improvements, such as now the back-end interface is much more user-friendly and the front-end offers a clean mobile-first look. As well as this, there are improved CMS capabilities which are much stronger and easier to use – which allows for better content management.
As experienced Magento web designers and developers, we’ve refined an effective custom development process that starts with getting to know your business and continues even after the website is launched. We pour attention into every stage of the Magento website creation process to make sure your website performs brilliantly and looks fantastic. Our entire process centres around you and your business, and we won’t be happy until you are.
With our ongoing support and hosting package, you can feel confident your Magento website will always be online, secure and processing sales. This package is designed to give our e-commerce business clients peace of mind as well as an opportunity to continuously develop and improve their web presence to meet the needs of shoppers. These retainers allow you to make ambitious projects more manageable, and also make sure that if you do need help, our team of experts are always on standby.
