Aldens of Oxford is a 7th generation family butchers established in 1793. They approached us during the pandemic to change the way they worked. As a business that hadn’t delved too deep into online selling, it was crucial for them to pick the right digital partner that was able to offer the right advice and help them on their way to a new way of working. The key requirements were for the website to be easy to use/checkout as well as aesthetically paying homage to their heritage and family values. As a business with years of heritage and recognition, the design for the website was of utmost importance. We wanted to produce a website design that leant on their history, as well as a design that would be easy for users of all ages and abilities to follow. Using their brand guidelines, we created a clean, sharp and modern e-commerce layout, whilst carefully picking fonts and visuals that backed up their heritage and experience.
The Aldens of Oxford shop is based on Magento – meaning it is scalable for their ever-growing list of products. The new site integrates with all of their internal ERP and fulfilment systems meaning that the entire process is efficient for both internal structures and their customer base. We focused on an easy-to-use checkout process, across mobiles and desktop, collecting only the necessary data to process an order.
We’re really pleased with the way the site has turned out. The new site represents Aldens of Oxford perfectly in design and will be a significant step forward for the business, especially in the current climate (COVID19!). One of our favourite things to do is not only produce fantastic websites but also make a difference in how a business operates and plans to scale going forward.
