The Challenge

Iron & Velvet, a UK innovator in eco-conscious home cleaning, faced a digital presence that didn’t reflect the quality or ambition of their brand. Their previous website made it hard for customers to understand the refill-and-reuse model, and the subscription offering, central to their business, was buried, leading to lower repeat purchases.

Desktop and mobile journeys were cumbersome, with unclear pathways that increased drop-off rates. For a company built on recurring revenue and customer lifetime value, this friction directly limited growth potential.

Our Approach

Rather than simply refreshing the design, we treated this as a full-scale eCommerce transformation, with the goal of making subscriptions the natural and most compelling choice while keeping one-off purchases simple and accessible.

We redesigned purchase journeys so that subscription became the default option, gently guiding users toward recurring orders. Messaging was clarified to explain the refill-and-reuse concept and environmental benefits more clearly, reducing friction and increasing trust. The brand presentation was elevated, with improved visual identity, imagery, and trust signals to reflect premium product quality and sustainability credentials. Mobile experiences were optimised to ensure seamless browsing, selection, and checkout on any device.

Every decision focused on encouraging long-term engagement, higher basket values, and predictable revenue growth.

The Solution

We built a bespoke WooCommerce website designed around Iron & Velvet’s subscription-led model. The subscription experience is central across products, bundles, and categories, while the product structure is organised around household routines, encouraging multi-item purchases and refill continuity. Sustainability messaging is clear, so customers understand the refill system and its environmental benefits from the moment they land on the site.
